About 5 Minute Pup
Short, positive dog training for busy people. Five focused minutes a day, every session ending on a success.
Who built this
I’m Nathan, an indie developer. I make small apps and games, and 5 Minute Pup is the one I built for my own life. No company, no team, just me and a laptop.
The dog
This all started with Teddy, my dog. I wanted to train him well but I never had an hour to spare, so I tried something smaller: five focused minutes a day. It worked. Day 6, he checked in with me instead of chasing the squirrel. That was the moment I knew this needed to exist for other people too.
The method
Every lesson in 5 Minute Pup follows the same simple method:
- Reward-based. We mark and reward the behavior we want. No punishment, no intimidation, no alpha nonsense.
- Five focused minutes. Short sessions keep your dog engaged and make it easy to show up daily.
- End on a success. Every session finishes with something your dog got right, so you both end happy.
I’m not a professional trainer, and this site doesn’t pretend otherwise. These are the exact routines that worked for Teddy and me, written down step by step.
Honest scope
5 Minute Pup has 101 lessons: 40 free, and 61 more with Premium. The free tier includes the 14-day starter plan, streaks, and notes. Premium ($29 a year, or a $79 founding lifetime deal) unlocks the rest, plus full behavior plans, a 7-day recall track, adaptive coaching, multiple dogs, and cloud sync.
You always know what you’re paying for. Nothing on the Premium list is a promise of something later.
